Sam moved to Toronto in 2019, seven months before the world shut down. After spending several months alone during lockdown, he was just about ready to book a one-way flight back to Perth when something unexpected was about to happen.

In 2020, during a brief moment between covid lockdowns, Sam and Isis matched on Hinge and decided to meet in person that very same day. Their first date at Poetry Jazz Café in Kensington Market lasted so long they ended up closing down the bar— an early sign that this was something special.

Just two weeks later, Isis moved to Sam’s neighbourhood, landing only two minutes away. Four months after that first date, they moved in together. From there, life unfolded quickly and naturally — filled with love, laughter, and adventures around the world. They’ve been inseparable ever since.

Sam proposed in August 2024, and in December they shared an intimate courthouse ceremony in Toronto, where Isis is from, so her family could be present. Now, they’re beyond excited to celebrate fully — bringing everyone together for their wedding in Perth, Western Australia, where Sam is from.

From opposite ends of the world, they found their way to each other — creating a life built on love and choosing one another, no matter the distance.
